365 Comics...94: MIND MGMT#9 (2013)

Have you ever watched a movie that had a prologue and epilogue that were at best tangentially
connected to the body of the film (Darjeeling Limited had a prologue like that, but no epilogue) and then whilst watching the film there's subtitles running along the bottom of the screen telling a different story (Monty Python and the Holy Grail on DVD can be subtitled with lines from Henry V, but that's not quite what I'm talking about).  All together, that would be one intense, mind bending cinematic experience, but that's every issue of MIND MGMT's current arc.

A hearty congrats to Matt Kindt for licensing his story to Ridley Scott's production house Scott Free (a Fox Studios banner) and for solidifying the 36 issue run of the series with Dark Horse.

Both good news.  I love knowing that Kindt has an end game in mind (no pun intended) and that we, as reader, know as well when it will hit.  It's an excellent unique and original series which will live long after its original run.

Meanwhile, a movie made out of the first arc should be amazing on its own (if it manages to capture the tone just right). But if it follows suit with the series expect fake internet ads, web dossiers, short videos on characters and their special abilities and more. And expect that Bluray to be jammed with bonuses (subtitle stories, commentary disinformation tracks, secret files... and some cutting edge stuff if the film does well enough).

But even if a film doesn't materialize 36 issues (or will it be 37 with the 0 issue?) should make me very happy .
