You know, Planetary is simply one of my all-time favorites. The truth is that I have almost come to appreciate the fact that we have to wait years between every issue... because it gives me a reason to re-read it every time a new one comes out. If it wasn't Warren Ellis weaving complete brilliance in a true labor of love, it would be inexcusable, but at least in this case, no one can say he hasn't delivered the goods.
Don't support artists and writers blowing off the fans for 3 years.
Obviously Ellis has had many more important things to do than script a story that's been in the making since issue 1. I've got more important things to do than give him money just because he gets off his arse to write this instead of a bazillion other projects.
I'll keep re-reading my TPB's of Planetary but I'll just never know how it ends. After this long I've gotten used to it.
I don't think artists deliberately "blow off" their fans-creativity isn't an on-off switch. If he did blow us off why even BOTHER finishing Planetary? In fact, he technically finished the storyline-this is the 'bookend' to the series.
Three years to get something like this done may seem long to us..but probably not to someone like Warren Ellis with many pots going and such. Sometimes, you want to take awhile to get it right.

I'm sorry Nate, but I disagree.

I gotta say, I can't wait to see how this ends...of course, I'm going to need to pull the series out and reread it first!
